In accordance with the requirements of the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM), to continue to provide services at the PROTECTED level, Microsoft’s cloud services are required to undergo an independent Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment.
This assessment is designed to provide the relevant authorities (ACSC or an individual agency’s authorising officer) with sufficient information to consider the risks associated with granting an Authority to Operate for systems that currently hold IRAP certifications as well as for new systems that have not previously been assessed.
