Make sure your airport gets its occupancy certificate.
Impending legislation will mean that airports will need a comprehensive digital building manual to achieve practical completion and receive an occupancy certificate.
The Building Code of Australia is implementing the recommendations of “Building Confidence” - the Shergold Weir report into the construction industry.
This means, amongst other things, that airports will need a comprehensive digital building manual in order to receive an occupancy certificate.
Nobody likes spending the large amounts of time involved in managing the accuracy and completeness of O&Ms. And we're not surprised... it’s a tedious, laborious task.
Reviewing and delivering as-built documentation before PC is becoming a necessity though... particularly with the impending requirement to have them in order for an occupancy certificate to be issued.
Fortunately we have spent almost thirteen years developing a system which guarantees the accurate, timely collection of O&Ms data in the most simple, painless way possible.
Our unique system provides a clear road-map with detailed checklists to follow, as well as simple review options for builders, architects and consulting engineers.
Best of all it will reduce the cost of compiling O&Ms by streamlining the process for everybody.
What is the Shergold Weir report?
"Building Confidence – Improving the effectiveness of compliance and enforcement systems for the building and construction industry across Australia" is a report by Professor Peter Shergold and Ms Bronwyn Weir.
It was commissioned in 2017 by the Building Ministers’ Forum (BMF), who asked the authors to undertake an assessment of the effectiveness of compliance and enforcement systems for the building and construction industry across Australia. Whilst the assessment was an extensive survey into the industry overall it focused on shortcomings in the implementation of the National Construction Code (NCC).
